Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse design requirements and recommend technical solutions
  • Understand requirements based on both technical and UI/UX needs; usability best practices; brand and style guides
  • Maintain consistently high standards
  • Present and communicate project ideas to the creative team
  • Deliver on-time, high-quality and error-free work
  • Determining the structure and design of web pages
  • Ensuring web design is optimised for smartphones
  • Building reusable code for future use
  • Optimising web pages for maximum speed and scalability

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree/diploma
  • 2-4 years experience in web development
  • Ability to program confidently in PHP
  • Basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms, such as HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Good understanding of MySQL databases
  • Management of hosting environment, including database administration and backups
  • Mobile-friendly and responsive development and testing
  • Knowledge of front-end libraries e.g. Bootstrap, jQuery
  • WordPress and working with it at a PHP code level
  • WordPress CMS and the practice and standards of building websites with it
  • WordPress plugin development and plugin architecture
  • Creation of custom post types/taxonomies/custom fields
  • Creation of plugins/widgets using clean, logical, well-documented and re-usable code
  • Theme/Template integration and modifying existing themes/templates
